Should I buy 2 puppies of the same age?

This is advice about having same sex pairs rather than one of each.

Start looking, but get a pup when yours is about 8-9 months or older as he will be old enough for the younger pup not to challenge him until your first is completely adult. If you get a choice of pups, go for the less pushy, submissive one and then they will fit together better too.

Get another, the same sex in 6-12 months after your first puppy. Much better than struggling to keep a girl and boy apart for 2-3 seasons and risking an accidental mating!
